Mission Statement of The Rainbow Ark Foundation "The heart and soul of the Rainbow Ark Foundation is to help create a culture of peace through the fundamental teaching of Sacred Ecology. Sacred Ecology is an ecology of the heart and of the spirit. It is based on the axiom that all life is an expression of Spirit and is sacred. It has a deep reverence for life and an understanding that there is no separation between humans and other living things including the Earth. It asserts that the recognition of this fact leads us to re-embrace and honor our inherent unity while celebrating our diversity. Sacred Ecology seeks to reawaken our sense of the interconnectedness of life from which true respect and honoring of all life can exist for all beings of the Earth." —Heather Foxhall, founder of the Rainbow Ark Foundation The mandate of The Rainbow Ark Foundation is to assist in creating a culture of peace through the fundamental teaching of Sacred Ecology. The initial focus of The Rainbow Ark Foundation in helping to create a new world culture is to hold cross-generational, cross-cultural Wisdom Council events at sacred sites and different ports of call around the world. Wisdom Councils gather wisdom elders from different cultures, disciplines and generations to address the challenges of the world from the wisdom of the heart. Crew members include such luminaries Jean-Michel Cousteau, Barbara Marx Hubbard and many others. Building the Rainbow Bridge is a series of Global Wisdom Councils and performances that celebrate the power of the healing, council and ceremonial circle as tools that can help heal the fragmentation between our cultures, our generations, the Earth and ourselves-as well as create the space to celebrate and honor life our greatest gift. The intention of The Global Wisdom Council is to bring healing, council and ceremonial circles back into the center of our world as a non-hierarchical form of communication and sacred experience. Designed to aid in the process of healing and rebuilding community on the Earth, as well as to promote the trusting, honoring and sharing of our own innate wisdom, Global Wisdom Councils express wisdom through healing. The central question that the Global Wisdom Council has been asking since the events of September 11th 2001 is "Can we finally heal our ancient collective broken heart?" We consider this the fundamental question and challenge of our time. Our current commitment is to take the message of Medicine of the Rainbow: The Mystical Path to Healing the Ancient Collective Broken Heart - An Evening of Storytelling, Prophecy and Healing around the world with the hope of igniting a movement that will help heal our ancient collective broken heart. A main directive of the Rainbow Ark is to reinstate the concept of The Epidaurus, the ancient Greek healing center that used the healing arts along with the performing arts in relationship to the natural world for healing and transformation. As ritual theater and ceremony is at the core of each Global Wisdom Council event, our strategic plan includes a provision for a permanent site to recreate this healing/cultural center. This Global Wisdom Center will become a forum in which important social symposiums (the Wisdom Councils) will be aligned with spontaneous creation and healing, helping to produce sacred art, media, and theatrical events so that our new stories, our new myths can be experienced... the reunion of Spirit, Culture and Nature, helping to create peace through culture. The ultimate aim of the Rainbow Ark Foundation is to reawaken the collective faith in our own innate wisdom, creativity, humor, and unity, thus engendering a global culture of peace, sovereignty and beauty; a culture in which the development of the creative spirit is honored, nurtured and revered as the highest human aspiration.
